ON-SCREEN TEXT: UnitedHealthcare app
When you or your loved ones need help finding doctors, resources or support, the UnitedHealthcare app is right by your side, connecting you with providers, tools and other resources.
Here’s what the app might look like by 2025.
ON-SCREEN TEXT: Meet Rose
Meet Rose, 56-year-old mother to 14-year-old son Jacob. She’s a new UnitedHealthcare member.
ON-SCREEN TEXT: Pre-effective
Rose has just started a new job.
After choosing UHC as her insurance provider during her company’s open enrollment, Rose downloads the UHC app.
Her plan coverage hasn't started, but there are a few steps she can take to set herself up prior to her effective date.
After verifying her identity, Rose sets up her HealthSafe ID. Then she sets her preferences.
She is greeted with a list of options to set up her experience. She can review her drug coverage through OptumRx, check her provider’s network status, and find out how to continue any ongoing treatment.
She decides to set up her personal support network.
While Rose is the subscriber, her husband helps manage health care for their son. Rose wants to be sure he has shared access to the account and health data.
ON-SCREEN TEXT: Rewards
Now that Rose’s plan has begun, she decides to finish setting up her preferences. Rose signs in.
She activates Rewards and opts to go paperless.
Back at her home screen, Rose sees that she earned $5 for signing up to go paperless. She’s curious to know if there are more ways to earn rewards, so she checks out the Rewards section.
Once there, she sees she can pair her tracker to record her movement.
She can also take a health survey. The survey helps give Rose awareness about what she may be doing well and the areas that she could focus on to improve her health and lifestyle.
After completing these tasks, Rose sees she’s earned $45 that she can put toward the purchase of a new fitness tracker, redeem on a digital Visa gift card, or add to her Optum Bank Health Savings Account.
ON-SCREEN TEXT: Caring for herself
As her annual visit is coming up, Rose decides that she would like to see a female doctor. She wants to search for a new provider but feels she’d like some assistance.
Rose opens the chat icon to see if she can get some help.
The UnitedHealthcare chat feature walks Rose through the process of finding a new provider. She confirms her location, then chooses provider criteria. Rose selects “gender” and the chat gives her several options. Rose chooses a new provider and the change is confirmed.
ON-SCREEN TEXT: Recommendations
Shortly after her PCP visit, Rose sees she has a notification on her UHC app.
She signs in and opens the Notification Center. She clicks in and discovers benefits in her plan specific to women’s health. These recommendations are based on her recent visit.
ON-SCREEN TEXT: Finding a doctor
Rose’s son Jacob can’t seem to shake off his chronic sinusitis. Rose would like to find a specialist because she feels he needs to go beyond his Primary Care Physician and see an ENT.
Rose types in Jacob’s condition. She’s able to compare providers and filter by many different criteria based on her preferences.
After clicking the provider details, Rose can now see their “Best Match” score, location, and cost estimates in order to for her to determine her right selection.
ON-SCREEN TEXT: Product scanner
After taking Jacob to the doctor, the ENT recommends a prescription medication and refers him to an acupuncturist.
Rose goes to pick up his prescription. While waiting at the pharmacy, Rose decides to pick up some over-the-counter remedies to help Jacob feel better right away.
Rose can check if items are covered by scanning them, so she uses the scanner on nasal spray. She’s thrilled to see the item is covered!
ON-SCREEN TEXT: Submitting a claim
Following the ENT’s care plan, Jacob sees an acupuncturist for his illness. The specialist is not in network, so Rose decides to submit a claim.
First, she selects the type of service. Rose is prompted to scan her medical bill. Then she fills out the required fields. Rose finds the service qualifies for reimbursement. She finishes the process, and her claim is submitted.
ON-SCREEN TEXT: Pay multiple claims
Rose is notified that the claim is ready to be viewed. In the app, she finds a balance that includes both of Jacob’s provider visits.
While she doesn’t have much in her HSA yet, she’s able to pay both claims simultaneously with her credit card.
Rose is pleased that she can do everything she needs through the UHC app.
